Throwing the Perfect Halloween Hot Tub Party

OUR HOT TUB BLOG

Halloween is right around the corner! Throw an unforgettable hot tub party.

No matter your budget, there are a variety of ways to turn your backyard retreat into a fun and spooky night, appropriate for all ages. Don’t be afraid to work with any decorations you already have, too! Below are some easy ways to get ready for the big night.

Color Theme

First, figure out if you want to have a color theme. If so, typical Halloween colors involve orange and black or purple and black. You can even go with a Fall color theme such as orange, red, and brown. No matter what you choose, deciding on colors first makes it easier to pick which decorations will match your hot tub party.

Pumpkins

You can never have too many pumpkins on Halloween! Grab large pumpkins, small pumpkins, even different colored pumpkins. You can carve out fun decorations onto your pumpkin and light them up at night. To go even beyond this, try out some pumpkin recipes! There are plenty of pumpkin-themed drinks, appetizers, and desserts to wow your guests.

Spooky Decorations

No Halloween hot tub party is complete without some spooky decorations!

Try a mix of skeletons, tombstones, ghosts, spiders, spiderwebs, witches, bats, and whatever suits your mood. Some decorations can be set on the table, others placed on the lawn, and you can even hang a few from the ceiling. Certain decorations are even in the form of fun costume jewelry that you can give out to your guests. If you have empty bottles, you can make your own decorations! Just cut out some construction paper in the shape of bats or skulls, hot glue some twine around the opening, and you can place this in the middle of tables! If you’re having a seated dinner, you can also use fake vampire teeth as the napkin rings. There’s plenty of ways to get creative!

Games

Now that your decorations are complete, it’s time to figure out what games you’ll have available. One common game is apple bobbing! All you need is a large bin filled with water and apples. Without using any other part of the body, players must catch an apple with their teeth. Another game you can find is pin the bone on the skeleton. You can find these at any party store or make your own! It’s like pin the tail on the donkey but with a Halloween twist. Ever play ring toss at a carnival? You can make one at home, too! Grab several witches’ hats, make sure the point can stand upright without falling, and people can attempt to throw a ring onto the point of the hat. Last but not least, you can even make a spooky maze for your guests.

Movies & Storytelling

Some guests may want a break from games or the hot tub. A great way to keep them entertained is to have a movie on in the background. Depending on the age of your guests, you’ll want to have an appropriate lineup of Halloween movies. If you have a fire pit in the backyard, you could also place some scary short stories on the table next to it. Then, have everyone take turns reading a paragraph while warming up by the fire.

Food & Drinks

Last but not least, don’t forget the food and drinks for your guests!

You can even make it in the style of a potluck where guests are encouraged to bring a dish of their own. There are plenty of recipes online to make colored drinks that look like potions, easy skeleton-themed cookies, and even kabobs with marshmallows in the form of ghosts! Don’t be afraid to get creative.

No matter how you style your Halloween hot tub party, the most important thing is that everyone has fun. We wish you and all your guests a safe and spooky Halloween!
